The Sunset Ridge Neighborhood Association is proud to announce the launch of our Yard of the Month Program! This initiative was created to celebrate residents of Sunset Ridge in Lake Worth Beach who take pride in their homes and landscapes while inspiring others to do the same.
Each month, one household will be recognized for the beauty, care, and creativity of their yard. Winners will receive recognition from the Neighborhood Association and be featured on our website and social media channels.
Judging Criteria
Yard of the Month candidates are evaluated on the exterior appearance of their property as viewed from the street, with a focus on sustainability and resiliency. Considerations include:
- Visual Attractiveness (20 points): Overall curb appeal and visibility from the street.
- Aesthetics (10 points): Overall look of the landscape, including color, texture, and proportion.
- Creativity/Originality (10 points): Personal touches such as yard art, bird feeders, planters, or hanging baskets.
- Specifics (10 points): Healthy lawn mowed and edged, beds weeded, flowers and shrubs properly maintained, and trees trimmed.
Additional factors include neatness, tidiness of walkways and driveways, and a visually appealing home façade. Yards maintained either by homeowners or professional landscapers are eligible.
Program Details
- Award Term: Runs for a single calendar month (1st through the last day).
- Eligibility: The same property may not win more than once in the same year.
- Nominations:
- Nomination forms will be available online.
- Nominations are due by the 2nd Thursday of each month to be considered for the following month’s award.
- Late nominations will roll into the next eligible month.
The winner will be announced at the Monthly Sunset Ridge Neighborhood meeting and shared on the Association’s social media channels.
